Recreations Outlet in Powell, Ohio

During the heat and humidity of summer, the slush and bitter cold of winter, rain, or simply because you want to be inside, Recreations Outlet is a great place for kids ages 1 – 7 to run and play and get all their jiggles out. Recreations Outlet offers a showroom of Rainbow Play Systems, trampolines, basketball hoops, and Step2 outside toys all set up and ready for your children to play. The floor is soft and cushiony to help decrease the risk of injury if children fall, and the showroom is enormous offering tons of room for running, jumping, and climbing. The place could be packed with kids and you wouldn’t even notice. In fact, when we went it was packed with children and there was still plenty of room to run. I heard squeals of laughter from babies being pushed in swings to pretend play chatter from preschool-aged children. Older girls and boys were jumping on the trampolines and shooting hoops.

The first time I took my kids their eyes lit up. They saw the enormous colorful inside playground and I could tell the endless amount of playing possibilities were swimming around in their heads. We checked in, meaning we signed a waiver that said Recreations Outlet is not responsible for injuries and paid a small fee for open playtime. My daughter ran for the first jungle gym she could climb and my son ran for the first Fred Flintstone car he could zoom across the floor in. I put my bags down and parked my butt on a bench for a few minutes to get situated. I noticed they have a room set up for birthday parties. This could be a great option for a winter birthday (my son has a winter birthday and I have a small house, so I am always on the lookout for inside party options). Recreations Outlet offers daily hours of playtime for a small fee per child, and some days they have free play. Below is information listed from their website that mentions rates and playtimes.

If you want to plan a trip or set a playgroup date, take a look:

  • Look for the red barn and turn in! Go straight back and you will find the outlet on your right and plenty of parking spaces.
  • There are free first come/first serve cubbies where you can store coats, backpacks, shoes, etc. They do not have doors, fyi.
  • Be prepared to keep a keen eye on your child. There is a lot of equipment and it is easy to lose site of them.
  • Be prepared to sign a waiver that states the facility is not responsible if your child gets injured.
  • Great place to check out Rainbow Play Systems swing sets if you are in the market. There are showroom sales people on the floor and information available.
  • I would recommend feeding your children before or after.
