YWCA Diaper Drive and a Chance to Win Disney On Ice Presents Princess Classics Tickets

The Princess bank happens to be my girl's donation savings.

A survey on Business Wire stated that 74% of U.S. adults plan to give some sort of donation this holiday season (check out the survey here) and the amount of donations in 2010 will exceed 48 billion dollars.* Wow, this makes me very happy. My family does our best to donate toys, food, and monetary gifts during the holiday season. We give what we can to help those in need, and love to know we did a small part in helping people who may be less fortunate than us.

If you are looking for a unique way to donate this season, I have a great idea for you that could also turn out to be a holiday present! Please consider the YWCA Diaper Drive held Saturday, December 11 from 10 a.m. to noon at Nationwide Arena’s Box Office lobby. The YWCA of Central Ohio is in desperate need of pull-up diapers in sizes 4, 5, and 6. In exchange for an unopened package of disposable pull ups, individuals will get a free ticket to either the January 19th or January 20th performance of Disney on Ice Presents Princess Classics at Nationwide Arena.  All donated diapers will be given to the YWCA Family Center for children in need.  There is a limit of 2 vouchers per family and a total of 500 ticket vouchers will be given out at this event.

“This will be the fourth year we have held the ‘Diaper Drop’ and last year alone we collected more than 9,000 diapers for the YWCA’s Family Center. The Family Center needs approximately 3,000 diapers each month to serve our families,” said Molly Rampe Thomas, director of housing and children and youth programs for YWCA of Columbus. “The Family Center provides emergency food and shelter for homeless families in addition to resources that help them find permanent housing, often within three weeks of entering the shelter. Especially in this economy, we are grateful for the partnerships that make it possible for us to serve these families.” The YWCA is a wonderful service that helps families who need it most, empower women, and provide a safe, affordable place for children who need care. Check out the YWCA website for more information.

FOR ONE OF MY WONDERFUL READERS:

FOUR tickets for Disney On Ice Presents Princess Classics at Nationwide Arena

I have 4 vouchers for Disney On Ice Presents Princess Classics itching for a home. The winner of the vouchers will receive them via snail mail from Irvin Public Relations and can be used for the January 19 or January 20, 2011 performance.

What you need to do:

A headstand while itching your nose and video taping it all the same time. Upload it to youtube and then post it on my facebook page. hahaha! just joking.

Really, this is all you need to do:

1.) Email me at kristin [at] cbusmom [dot] com (avoiding spambots, not trying to be annoying)

2.) In that email tell me who your child’s favorite princess is and your favorite way/place to give during the holidays. Include your snail mail address so Irvin PR can send you the vouchers.

3.) The first email I receive will be the winner of the vouchers.

4.) I will post that email on my facebook page and would LOVE a picture of your little princess (or prince) dressed up to post as well (picture is not necessary, but if you do include a picture please give me permission to post it in your email). You can email me first and send the picture along later, just please tell me if you want me to wait for a picture.

Thank you in advance for participating!

  1. Just wanted to pass along this little discount – it may help someone if they didn’t win the tickets and really want to go! You can use code MOM at http://www.ticketmaster.com/promo/xu3cyz to get $4 off all performances 🙂 It will be at the Nationwide Arena 1/19+23. My girls and I really love the Disney on Ice shows, so we’re really looking forward to this one!
