Indoor Pool at the Worthington Community Center in Worthington, OH

Heat, humidity, cold winters, and rainy days don’t need to keep kids from swimming. The indoor pool at Worthington Community Center is a fabulous option for those days you want to get wet, but Mother Nature gets in the way. Located East of High Street on Wilson Bridge Road, the Worthington Community Center welcomes members and non-members alike to splash around for an afternoon.

The pool is zero grade entry or “beach entry”, which means it is perfect for the tiny ones who want to be in the water but really can only sit and splash. There is a fountain area and lots of space to play tag or swim around. A lazy river can take the kids on a floating ride on an inner tube or inside the “river” for the whirlpool and bubble tub. A huge twisty turny slide looks menacing, but really it is a ton of fun – it’s fast and thrilling and worth at least one slide down.

Just sign in at the desk for a daily pass to the pool. It is $5/child and $8/adult. Lockers can be used by trading your driver’s license for a key, three family bathrooms are available, and locker rooms for adults and children (3 and up) of the same gender. Kids not potty-trained need to wear a swim diaper.

The lobby area has plenty of vending machines for a snack or drink. You’d be set with some cash, towels, and dry clothes to put on after swimming. My fave – no sunscreen or sun hats!!!

Worthington Community Center also offers swim lessons for children six months on up which are extremely popular. Check the schedule for classes here and click on the current season’s brochure link on the right. Classes fill quickly – don’t dawdle! Class fees are broken down for residents and non-residents.

A few things to remember:

  • Check the leisure pool schedule before you go. Don’t get stuck waiting for classes to end.
  • The center asks that cover ups and shoes be worn in the lobby area.
  • Lockers are available for free in the family changing area. They will ask to hold your driver’s license.
  • Children 3 and up must go into the gender appropriate locker room.
  • Spinny things to help dry out your suit are located in the locker rooms.
