Can I just tell you how much I love this reader?! She sent me pics from her son’s birthday party at Glen’s Sports Barn and told me all about this place. Sounds great for a birthday party or to get lessons in various sporting activities.
Erica reached out to me to share her experience at Glen’s Sports Barn, which was very positive. She has two kids – a boy and a girl (her son has the same name as my son!) who she tries to keep busy and active. She lives in Lewis Center and is a financial adviser. “I wanted to tell you about a gem of place I recently discovered for kid’s birthday parties – it’s called
Glen’s Sports Barn in Westerville. It’s an Amish barn that is completely renovated into a gymnasium. The owner is Glen and he lives in his house in front of the barn.
We had my son’s birthday party there this past weekend and it was awesome. They played basketball, kickball, dodgeball and were active the entire two hours. The barn has a separate area with tables and chairs for eating, and a loft area with couches and a big screen TV (we had brought a movie for the little sisters to watch but Glen is still getting things set up – just know that is an option!). The cost was $60 / hour to rent, so it cost us $120 for a party with eighteen 7 and 8 year old boys.
The only drawback is that he has not finished renovations on the bathrooms, so the boys had to use a port-a-potty that Glen has set up outside the barn. There is a sink inside the loft so I brought soap and made sure the boys washed their hands (I also stood outside the port-a-potty for each kid). Just so you know, Glen said once the renovations are complete he plans to raise the rental prices. I feel that this is a great option for active boys and girls!!!”
I don’t know about you, but this sounds like a great option for a fun, low-key birthday party. You should call for more information, but I bet you could bring your own food, cake and decorations. But, talk to Glen!
